Laura Power
Mindfulness-Based Core Process Psychotherapist in Central London, W1.
My journey in this field began in 1998 when I started a regular practice of meditation and yoga. In 2007, after many years in international human rights work, I retrained as a trauma therapist, incorporating somatic bodywork. After a decade in private practice and continued professional development, I earned a Master’s in Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy from Middlesex University at the Karuna Institute in Devon.
My work is guided by a calm, compassionate presence, rooted in deep inner work and a wealth of therapeutic experience.
I offer a confidential, supportive space where you’re welcome just as you are—whether you’re in crisis, transition, or seeking reconnection with what matters most. No previous experience of mindfulness or therapy is needed—only a willingness to explore your experience with honesty and care.
For me, this work is both a calling and a privilege. It is profoundly moving to sit with another person in honesty and presence, especially when we begin to touch what once felt too painful or too private to share.
Something shifts when we can meet our experience—grief, shame, anger, fear—with the support of another. That shift is sometimes but not always dramatic or obvious, but it’s alive and real. I believe in the quiet, lasting changes that come from this kind of deep listening and shared inquiry.
Therapy, at its best, is a sacred space of care and truth-telling. It’s a place where transformation becomes possible—often quietly, gradually and deeply.
